Doing What Counts

““Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction.” II Timothy 4:2

What are you doing this summer? We have four seasons in North Carolina and each season brings a new feeling of starting over. This summer I will travel to some special places with my family; some day trips and some overnight ones, and we may attend a sporting event and enjoy some festivals.

Let me challenge you with this: as each new season comes, don’t ask what you are going to do for yourself. Instead, ask what you can do for Jesus during the new season.

Summer is a great time to share the gospel. People are more relaxed and many times are more open. Neighbors are out and there are events and games to attend. More people are walking and enjoying God’s creation, making it a great time to share about God, His creation and the love of Jesus for their soul.

Wherever you live, try and win one person to Jesus each season. That is a total of four people each year. If we all choose to do this, there will be a lot of new converts for Jesus Christ. Let’s go!
