Tim Tebow Gets First Spring Training Hit

Tim Tebow’s hitting drought is over.

The former quarterback was hitless in his first eight Spring Training at-bats before lacing a single to left field against Marlins left-hander Kyle Lobstein for his first Grapefruit League hit.

Batting eighth and playing left field, Tebow brought the crowd to their feet with his fifth inning single after grounding out in the second inning.

In his third at-bat in the bottom of the seventh inning, he struck out swinging.

Tebow was a surprise addition to the Mets’ roster for Monday’s game. The team said it was short on bodies due to the World Baseball Classic.
