Jim Schlossnagle is the baseball head coach with the Texas Longhorns. He began his coaching career in 1990 and got his first opportunity as a head coach in 2002 with UNLV. In 2003, he became the head coach at TCU, where he spent 19 seasons. In 2022, he moved to Texas A&M before taking the job at Texas in June 2024.
Over his 23-year coaching career, Schlossnagle has led his teams to seven College World Series appearances, including 2024 with Texas A&M.
Today on the podcast, Jim Schlossnagle joins us to discuss his new role with Texas, the pressures of coaching at a high level, the distinction between goals and standards, and the significance of identity beyond one’s role in sports.
