Tage Thompson has made a name for himself as a deadly sniper. In the 2026 Winter Olympics, he scored key goals on his way to helping Team USA capture gold. Even with defenders closing in and goalies ready, Thompson finds the seams and finishes with calm accuracy. Those goals don’t just fill the scoreboard — they shift momentum, energize teammates, and create opportunity in moments that matter most.
Sniping in hockey comes down to a quick release and pinpoint accuracy. The best shooters get the puck off their stick fast and place it where the goalie can’t reach. That precision is what separates ordinary shots from game-changing plays.
Following Jesus requires the same kind of intention. Life is full of pressure, distractions and challenges. But in the midst of all the chaos, God calls us to notice the openings He provides. Moments to speak truth, show kindness or act in service. The snipe moments are all around us, we just have to respond faithfully.
It’s not about rushing or forcing things; it’s about discernment, patience and execution. “Good planning and hard work lead to prosperity, but hasty shortcuts lead to poverty” (Proverbs 21:5, NLT). Just as Thompson picks the perfect spot to score, we are called to aim our actions, words and choices where God can use them for lasting impact.
Be a sniper in your faith life. Capitalize on the opportunities God places before you, regardless of how small they may seem. Move with intention, and make each decision count for His Kingdom.
