THIS IS THE SPORTS SPECTRUM PODCAST
WITH JASON ROMANO, FEATURING TAGE THOMPSON
Tage Thompson is a center with the Buffalo Sabres. He was selected 26th overall in the 2016 NHL Draft by the St. Louis Blues, and made his NHL debut against Pittsburgh in October 2017. In July 2018, he was traded to Buffalo.
In 2021-22, Thompson enjoyed a breakout season, scoring 38 goals and compiling 68 points. The Sabres rewarded him with a seven-year contract extension in August 2022. He lived up to the new deal in 2022-23, scoring 47 goals (sixth in the league) with 47 assists, and getting named to his first All-Star Game.
Today on the podcast, we talk to Tage Thompson about his hockey journey, playing for the city of Buffalo, the sacrifice his parents made for him, why trusting in God’s plan has allowed him to enjoy his job, and how becoming a father has helped him see God in a new and fresh way.
Buffalo's Tage Thompson is 1 of 3 NHL players to rank in the top 5 in goals and points. He's also a "big believer in God."
