“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” – Hebrews 13:8

I Still Got It

Every Sunday after service, the youth and some adults would go to a local soccer field and play soccer. Many times, it was just the youth playing but occasionally one of the “older” people would join us and play.

On one of those Sundays, I got dehydrated and needed a break. To my surprise, my 50-plus-year-old father volunteered to take my spot. I looked at him with shock. This man hadn’t played soccer in more than 20 years.

On his first chance after stepping in for me, he chested down a long pass, dribbled down the sideline and crossed a beautiful pass into the box for one of our youth to head in for a goal.

Effortless. It was a thing of beauty. My dad walked up to me and winked and with a sense of pride said, “I still got it.”

Scriptures tell us of a God who raises people from the dead, gives sight to the blind, heals sicknesses, and transforms lives completely. If you were wondering if God can work in your situation, just remember that the God of the Bible is still alive and at work today! The Lord is telling us today: I still got it.
