Sporting the football number of 97, Tim Tebow started his first Major League-level game today making his Mets Grapefruit League debut batting eighth at designated hitter vs the Boston Red Sox.
Tebow’s first game was baseball’s version of baptism by fire as he faced the reigning American League Cy Young award winner in Red Sox pitcher Rick Porcello.
In his first at-bat, Tebow saw 4 pitches from Porcello and struck out looking.
