THIS IS EPISODE 434 OF THE SPORTS SPECTRUM PODCAST
Esther Fleece Allen is an author and speaker. Her first book, “No More Faking Fine,” was a bestseller when it was released in 2017, and now she’s releasing her second book, “Your New Name,” on Jan. 14.
A graduate of the Oxford Center for Christian Apologetics and currently in seminary, Esther grew up in a life of abandonment, neglect and brokenness. She’s since overcome her difficult adolescence and now shares her story with tens of thousands of people who are struggling with life’s setbacks.
On this episode of the podcast, we talk to Esther about her new book project, forgiving her parents, how NFL players have helped her on her journey, and why we should not be identified by our performance.

So much of who I am began at @daveannwilson church. Deeply emotional to sit with them as a broadcast guest and share how God names us for what’s to come, not for what’s behind. I’m forever grateful to this couple. Thanks @familylifeinsta & broadcast legend Bob Lepine for supporting me and #YourNewNameBook. Means more than I can say! Praying the listeners are encouraged. Broadcast will air after the #yournewname comes out. #nomorefakingfine
