THIS IS THE SPORTS SPECTRUM PODCAST
WITH JASON ROMANO, FEATURING SHANE BEAMER
Shane Beamer is the head football coach at South Carolina. He finished his first season with the Gamecocks in 2021 and went 7-6, winning the Duke’s Mayo Bowl, 38-21, over North Carolina.
Beamer is the son of former Virginia Tech head coach Frank Beamer and played football for his father in the late 1990s as a wide receiver and long snapper. Following in the coaching footsteps of his dad, Shane was a grad assistant and assistant coach for 20 years with Tennessee, South Carolina, Virginia Tech, Georgia and Oklahoma before getting his first head-coaching job in December 2020 with South Carolina.
Today on the podcast, we talk to Shane Beamer about his coaching style, the experience of his first head-coaching job, lessons learned from his football-coaching father, and how his faith keeps him grounded each day.
