THIS IS THE SPORTS SPECTRUM PODCAST
WITH JASON ROMANO, FEATURING NATE OATS
Nate Oats has been the head coach of the University of Alabama men’s basketball program since March 2019. He came to Tuscaloosa after five successful years as the head coach at the University of Buffalo.
In his first three seasons at Alabama, Oats led the Crimson Tide to two NCAA Tournament appearances, including 2021 when the team won the SEC championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament’s Sweet 16. He is a two-time MAC Coach of the Year and the 2021 SEC Coach of the Year.
On this episode of the podcast, we talk to Coach Oats about how he has dealt with a now-former player’s arrest, trusting in God to guide him through prayer and Scripture so he can lead his team, and how they will move forward in the rest of the 2022-23 college basketball season.
“I’m a believer. A lot of prayer. A lot of scripture reading just to figure out what to tell the team.”
