THIS IS THE SPORTS SPECTRUM PODCAST
WITH JASON ROMANO, FEATURING JOE MAZZULLA
Joe Mazzulla is the head coach of the Boston Celtics. He joined Boston in 2019 as an assistant coach and was elevated to his current role in October 2022. In his first season, he was the Eastern Conference head coach at the NBA All-Star Game and led the Celtics to within one game of the NBA Finals.
As a player in college, Mazzulla helped West Virginia reach the 2010 NCAA Final Four, as he scored 17 points in an Elite Eight upset of Kentucky.
Today on the podcast, we talk to Joe Mazzulla about Jesus as a leader, remaining humble in his position, the importance of building relationships, why he has made a commitment to studying grace and love, and the importance of using his platform to treat others like Jesus.
“If you don’t have a compass, it’s very hard to direct yourself. You have to learn that on your own sometimes. My identity comes from my faith and my purpose.”
