GET IN THE GAME PODCAST: Daniel Murphy - Former Major Leaguer

THIS IS THE GET IN THE GAME PODCAST
WITH SCOTT LINEBRINK

From 2008-2020, Daniel Murphy was one of the best infielders in the major leagues. He was selected to three All-Star Games, won the Silver Slugger Award twice and was the 2015 National League Championship Series MVP with the New York Mets. He set a postseason record in 2015 with home runs in six straight playoff games, including one in all four NLCS games. He also finished second in the MVP voting in 2016 while a member of the Washington Nationals.

Now that he’s retired, Murphy returned to Jacksonville University — where he played baseball before leaving early to go to the major leagues — to finish his degree.

In today’s podcast, Murphy joined Scott Linebrink to talk about his playing days, how he and his wife Tori made their marriage and family work during the grueling baseball season, what he learned about hard work from his father, his strong faith, and the different ways he and his wife are using their platform to serve others.

Get in the Game is part of the Sports Spectrum Podcast Network.
