GET IN THE GAME PODCAST: Jason Adam - Tampa Bay Rays Pitcher

THIS IS THE GET IN THE GAME PODCAST
WITH SCOTT LINEBRINK

Jason Adam just finished his fifth season in the major leagues, the most recent of which he spent with the Tampa Bay Rays. A native of Overland Park, Kansas, he was drafted by the nearby Kansas City Royals in the fifth round of the 2010 MLB Draft. Since then, he has bounced around between the Minnesota Twins and the San Diego Padres organizations before rejoining the Royals, where he made his major league debut in 2018. He and wife, Kelsey, have three children.

In this conversation, Jason shares the journey he’s been on with injuries, specifically the dislocation of his ankle that almost ended his career. Also, this past season, Jason and several teammates chose not to wear a patch on their jerseys during Rays Pride Night. He and his teammates received a lot of blowback from the LGBTQ community, but Jason shares how he took intentional efforts to hear their side and let them know they were loved.
