“No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead.” Philippians 3:13
Most of us have played sports at an organized or competitive level. We learn that you have to adjust and move on when you perform poorly. If you think too much about what went wrong it affects the rest of your game.
I believe it is similar in our Christian life. We make a bad choice, a decision that is not pleasing to God. Our choice and the circumstances surrounding it bring us sorrow and grief. We tend to dwell on the results. We continue to think on and ponder over our past mistake(s), “What got me into this bad situation?” When we do this, its holds us back from glorifying God, continuing in His ways, will and desire for us.
