College Football Game of the Week: Oklahoma vs Ohio State

Week two of the college football schedule takes us on a trip to Columbus, Ohio, where #5 Oklahoma will battle #2 Ohio State. We also welcome Jon Ackerman to the weekly picks. Hopefully he fairs better than Justin and Jason did last week.

Jason Romano: Oklahoma 34, Ohio State 23 — “Ohio State is very tough at home, but Oklahoma enters into the National Championship conversation by pulling off the upset in Columbus. Expect a big game from Heisman Trophy candidate Baker Mayfield.”

Justin Adams: Ohio State 31, Oklahoma 27 — “Last year then-freshman running back Mike Weber rushed for 123 yards on 18 carries in Ohio State’s 45-24 win in Norman. This year another freshman tailback will be called upon to lead the Buckeyes against the Sooners in J.K. Dobbins, who rushed for 181 yards in his college football debut. I see Dobbins’ young legs combined with an opportunistic defense leading the Buckeyes to a close victory over Baker Mayfield and company.”

Jon Ackerman: Ohio State 34, Oklahoma 21 — “This is the first big matchup of the year for two top-five teams with high hopes this season. I give the edge to Ohio State playing at home against the youngest head coach (Lincoln Riley) in the Bowl Championship Subdivision. OSU under head coach Urban Meyer is routinely prepared for big games such as this.”
