“I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.” – John 14:27

Enjoy the Peace that Christ has Given You

This world is constantly searching for peace, health, and prosperity. For the believer, all of this is found in the word of God. We simply have to believe and receive it!

The word peace in the Hebrew, SHALOM, is bursting with intent and hope. Strong’s Concordance defines it as follows: “meaning, completeness, wholeness, health, peace, welfare, safety, soundness, tranquility, prosperity, perfectness, fullness, rest, harmony, and the absence of agitation or discord.”

If we consider the etymology of Shalom Shulam, which means paid in full, then our peace and all these promises that go with it were fully paid for by the finished work of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. So, whether you’re rehabbing an injury, wondering what’s next for you in your playing career, or even how you will physically and mentally handle the riggers of another season, take heart in knowing you can live in peace regardless of what turmoil is going on around you because of the peace Christ gives.
