“And by faith even Sarah, who was past childbearing age, was enabled to bear children because she considered him faithful who had made the promise.” – Hebrews 11:11
God Only Counts Your Faith
Throughout the Bible, you see faith being a very important thing. Some people received a miracle because they had faith. Others saw a promise fulfilled because they believed God. At times in our Christian walk though, there are times we struggle to believe God’s truth or promises over our life.
Sarah struggled with that too. When God told her that she would have a child at a young age, she laughed. At God. Not the best thing to do. Then, when God confronted her about it, she lied that she laughed. Yet, when God writes her story in Hebrews, he says Sarah received the gift of a child because she considered him faithful. In other words, she had faith at a later point and he’d fulfilled what he said. There is no mention of her laughing or lying to God. Faith is what matters to him.
The same applies for athletes in sports today. I recently attended an NFL Youth conference where a few players talked about the need for faith in their jobs. Some of the players weren’t drafted and had nowhere to play at first. Others were drafted and then cut. But none of them doubted that God would provide for them and their family. They kept the faith and God enabled them to receive their blessing.
This truth applies to you as well. God has spoken promises over each and every one of you. Even if you think the promise(s) are too good to be true, or you’ve believed the enemy that they are not for you, there is time to have your story rewritten. You can have faith that today, things will change in your life. You can have faith that God is your provider. That He is your healer. That He is your heavenly Father and He truly does love you. And your story will be rewritten too.
