NEW PODCAST: Greg Davis, Former Texas Longhorns Football Coach (Part 1)

THIS IS EPISODE 139 OF THE SPORTS SPECTRUM PODCAST

Greg Davis coached football for 43 years, most notably with the Texas Longhorns as their offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach from 1998-2010. In 2005, he was named the Frank Broyles Assistant Coach of the Year after helping lead the Longhorns to the national championship.

After departing from Texas in 2010, Davis began a five-year stint with the University of Iowa as their offensive coordinator. On Jan. 6, 2017, he retired from coaching.

In Part 1 of a two-part conversation with Davis, we talk about retirement, stepping away from the game he coached for more than 40 years, why “culture” is so important for a team, and how he lived out his faith in Christ as a football coach.
