The Seattle Seahawks squeaked by the Los Angeles Rams, 30-29, on Thursday Night Football this week, thanks to an incredible late-game interception by the Seahawks and a missed field goal in the final minute by the Rams.

There were several notable individual performances. Yet it was Seattle QB Russell Wilson who stole the show, with 268 passing yards, four touchdowns and a passer rating of 151.8. He led his team on a 12-play, 75-yard drive late in the fourth quarter, which he capped off with a five-yard touchdown pass to Chris Carson that gave the Seahawks the 30-29 lead they would never relinquish.
Wilson’s masterful execution Thursday night adds to his impressive start in 2019. Through five games, he’s compiled 1,409 yards and 12 touchdowns with no interceptions. His completion percentage is 73.1 and his passer rating is 126.3; both would be career highs if he can sustain his play for the rest of the season.
Despite his scrambling style, Wilson has never missed a game since he entered the NFL as a third-round pick out of Wisconsin in 2012. He led the Seahawks to a Super Bowl title after the 2013 season and has been to the Pro Bowl six times, with a seventh trip in the near future if he continues at his current pace.
Seahawks management felt strongly enough about Wilson that they rewarded him with a four-year extension worth $140 million, making him the highest-paid quarterback in the NFL at the time.
Instead of boasting about himself, Wilson thanked God for all He has done.
Wilson is very vocal about his faith, often making references to Jesus and posting Bible verses on his Twitter account.

“Jesus is love!” Christian Today quoted Wilson as saying before Seattle’s Super Bowl XLVIII victory. “At the end of the day, we are all looking for someone to comfort us, somebody to be there for us at all times. When we are at the worst times of our lives, when we are battling with something, or struggles, whatever it may be, when we are at our highest point as well, when things are going really well, we want somebody to comfort us and be there for us and to say, ‘Well done.’ That’s Jesus!”
Wilson also mentioned his faith during media availability before Super Bowl XLVIII:
With Wilson leading the way, the Seahawks are now 4-1 this season and likely to contend for another postseason trip. The only time Seattle has missed the playoffs since Wilson joined the team was in 2017.
