Georgia quarterback Jake Fromm is headed to the NFL. The junior announced Wednesday on Twitter the he would forgo his senior year and move on to the next level.

“Through much prayer and counsel, I have decided that it is time for me to take on the next challenge in my life and pursue my lifelong dream of playing in the NFL,” Fromm wrote in his tweet. “It is with both a humbled and excited heart that I announce this, and I can assure you that this decision was not based on anything other than what I strongly believe is God’s will for my life.”

Fromm led the Bulldogs to a 12-2 record and a Sugar Bowl win last week over Baylor. He completed 20 of 30 passes for 250 yards and two touchdowns in the victory — and after the game talked openly with ESPN about how his faith is what he wants people at Georgia to remember him by.
“I want to represent Christ the best I can,” Fromm said. “I hope I can reach and influence as many people as possible. I’m thankful to play here, this university is amazing. And to play here every single game, every single moment has been a blessing. I’m so thankful to be able to play here.”

In 2019, Fromm completed 60.8 percent of his passes for 2,860 passing yards with 24 touchdowns and only five interceptions. For his career at Georgia, he totaled 8,236 passing yards (fourth in school history), 78 touchdown passes (second) and just 18 interceptions.
The 2020 NFL Draft will be held April 23-25 in Paradise, Nev., with the Cincinnati Bengals on the clock for the first overall pick.
