SS PODCAST: Rangers pitcher Taylor Hearn on trusting in God, playing for his hometown team

Taylor Hearn is a pitcher with the Texas Rangers. He was selected in the fifth round of the 2015 MLB Draft by the Washington Nationals, and made his MLB debut on April 25, 2019, with the Rangers. He was the starting pitcher for the Rangers home opener in 2022, after a 2021 season in which he appeared in 42 games, making 11 starts and earning six wins.

After a successful high school career in Royce City, Texas, Hearn attended San Jacinto College and Oklahoma Baptist. He was drafted four times before signing with the Nationals in 2015, then was traded to the Pirates in 2016 and to the Rangers in 2018.

Today on the podcast, we talk to Hearn about his baseball career, pitching for his hometown team, living for Jesus, and the gratitude he has for being a professional baseball player.
