“Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” Hebrews 10:25

Back Up

Watching my son roam his little league outfield, I witnessed him run over to back up the shortstop every time a runner threatened to advance. If you’ve ever seen how many errant throws occur at this level of play, you know this takes continuous effort and dedication. While “hustling” will never show up in the box score, the commitment to back up others is crucial to the success of the team.

The importance of fellowship is stressed throughout the Word of God, and it exhorts us to be there for each other. We all need to back up our brothers and sisters in Christ, to edify and support each other to fight the good fight. It is essential that we always stay connected to the family of God and constantly look for ways to be a blessing to others. Without a group of solid believers behind you, it is extremely difficult to move forward in your own faith.

What are you currently doing to “back up” the body of Christ?
