“But if Christ is in you, although the body is dead because of sin, the Spirit is life because of righteousness. If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.” – Romans 8:10-11

NASCAR Trinity – Part 2

Now that you have a strong bond with your crew chief, we can begin to talk about the role of the pit crew. The pit crew is the team of men who jump over the wall and physically make the changes to the driver’s car. These changes could be major or minor, engine-related, tire-related or they simply could be fuel-related, but nonetheless they are there to get your car across the finish line.

The same role is played in our lives by the Holy Spirit; it is “hands-on”, over the wall, in your system, under your hood, making the adjustments, correcting the problems, and filling your tank. To do this, the Holy Spirit needs to be allowed to fill your soul within. This can only be done by abiding in Christ just as the driver abides in his crew chief, allowing the chief to instruct the pit crew.

It is crucial for us to take time out of our daily race to come in for a pit stop and allow the Holy Spirit to work within us. Without talking to the crew chief and without pit stops, your care will not reach victory lane, let alone the finish line. As you abide in Christ, be sure to let the Holy Spirit over the wall and under the hood.
