“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.” — 2 Timothy 2:15
Worshipping Play, Or Playing At Worship?
Last month, our pastor delivered a powerful message that included something most of us have heard before in one form or another: Most men worship their play and play at their worship! He went on to say that when our hearts are pure, our prayers please God!
Following our church service, I watched several hours of football. There is nothing wrong with this, but I need to ask myself, “How much time do I spend with God?
My walk as a Christian is a process. The more time I spend in prayer, good fellowship and the reading of God’s Word, the less I spend in the junkyard of sin!
I could honestly say, “I used to be a junk dealer.” But when I began my walk with Jesus, the cleansing and polishing began. I slip from time to time, but His Holy Spirit is always there to pick me up and place me back on the right path.
