“And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.” Revelation 20:15

OGodRoster

Seventh grade intramural basketball players competed fiercely at Seneca Junior High in Penn Hills. Our team beat another one by one point and then lost to another squad in the playoffs.

At the end of those intramural playoffs, school officials picked an all-star team, which meant you had an inside track to make the 8th grade hoops squad.

I wondered who they would pick. As I went to lunch one day and looked up at the board, I noticed my name. What a feeling of joy I had that I actually made it.

Many athletes experience the joy of making a team or the agony of getting cut. That’s where that famous saying about the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat begins.

Although I made the all-star team, I did not make the 8th grade team.

Appreciate the fact that if you have truly accepted Christ as your Lord and Savior, your name is on the most important roster of all- The Book of Life! What a joy to know that we can’t get cut from that roster.

Rejoice that your name is written on God’s roster in the Book of Life! Thank You Lord that I’m on your roster in the Book of Life! Amen
