“Do not merely listen to the Word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.” — James 1:22

The year 2018 has come and gone. It may have been a great year filled with breakthroughs, new love and dreams fulfilled. Maybe it was a tough year, with loss, setbacks and struggles. Whatever you encountered, good or bad, is followed by God’s word of renewed hope and a life of a promise that will be fulfilled.

As we enter 2019, let’s all focus on one word we can rest on, and allow God to work in us and through us for our betterment and the progress of the Kingdom. You may not have a word yet, but when you do, write it, speak it, post it, pray it and do what it says. See, the point of this word is to actually apply it to our lives and those it can affect.

My word is “intentional.” I pray that my prayer life has more of this, that my relationships have more of this, that my serving His Kingdom has more of this. As James wrote, I do not want to just listen to this word, but actively apply it to my life. This is our 2019 challenge.

Let’s walk into 2019 with an expectancy, a teachable spirit and a loving heart that knows no boundaries.
