“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith — and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God — not by works, so that no one can boast.” — Ephesians 2:8-9

Many believe that all world religions are the same and there are many ways to God. Closer examination, however, reveals that world religions are works-based or performance-based, except true Christianity. All other world religions, at their core, teach that their followers must do something to get to Heaven, reach nirvana, or get to a higher plane in the next life. But that’s not what we find in the Bible.
What is the Gospel? The Gospel means “good news!” True Christianity believes that God is the initiator with man, and He initiated out of love for us by sending His only Son, Jesus. In His earthly life, Jesus performed many miracles, signs and wonders, and lived a sinless life, proving He was God in the flesh. He allowed Himself to be arrested, beaten and nailed to the cross though He was innocent. Jesus shed His innocent blood for the forgiveness of our sins. He died on the cross, was buried, but after three days He rose from the grave just as He said He would. He proved His power over death and the grave. His resurrection was witnessed by the disciples and more than 500 people. He ascended into Heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father today.
One day, possibly soon, He’ll return to judge the living and the dead. Those who have placed their faith in Him will be saved to eternal glory, but those who do not believe will find eternal separation in a place Jesus called hell.
What must we do to be saved from this eternal judgment? Read Romans 10:9-10 and place your faith in Jesus. Salvation is a free gift based upon grace, not works. That’s good news!
