THIS IS EPISODE 103 OF THE SPORTS SPECTRUM PODCAST
Thomas Davis is a three-time Pro Bowl linebacker with the Carolina Panthers. He was the 2014 Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year, and played in Super Bowl 50 with Carolina.
Selected in the first round of the 2005 NFL Draft by Carolina, Davis has played his entire 13-year career in Charlotte. In January 2018, he announced that this upcoming NFL season would be his last one as a professional football player.
In early April 2018, the NFL suspended Davis for four games after he tested positive for a banned performance-enhancing drug. He was remorseful in his apology and said he never intentionally cheated the game that he so loved.
On this episode of the podcast, Davis talks about growing up without a dad in small-town Georgia, being drafted to the NFL, how he parents his kids, why saying “I love you” is a priority to him as a dad, and how he learned to trust God during his lowest point on the field after suffering three straight ACL tears.

This is by far one of the saddest days of my NFL career. I never thought that this would happen to me. I’ve worked extremely hard to do things the right way on and off the field. Panther Nation please know that I am not a cheater. #KeepPounding pic.twitter.com/zUppMfm6yk
