THIS IS EPISODE 218 OF THE SPORTS SPECTRUM PODCAST
On Tuesday, New Year’s Day, Tyler Trent passed away after a courageous battle with bone cancer. The 20-year-old Purdue superfan’s faith in Jesus Christ was strong, and he lived out that faith during his last few months as the Boilermakers’ honorary team captain.
David Blough is Trent’s friend, as well as the quarterback of the Purdue Boilermakers.
From 2015-2018, Blough started 36 games for Purdue and led the team to the Motor City Bowl this season. His biggest win came in October, when he threw for 378 yards and three touchdowns in an upset of the undefeated Ohio State Buckeyes.
On this episode of the podcast, Blough joins us to remember his friend Tyler Trent, and talk about the special bond they had together.
“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
