THIS IS EPISODE 444 OF THE SPORTS SPECTRUM PODCAST
Blake Mazza just finished his redshirt sophomore season as the kicker for the Washington State football team. The Plano, Texas, native was one of the top kickers in the country and became the first kicker in Washington State football history to be a finalist for the Lou Groza award for college football’s top kicker.
After redshirting his freshman season at the University of Arkansas, Mazza transferred to Washington State and was the Cougars’ kicker in 2018 as a redshirt freshman. In 2019, he was awesome, hitting 20 of 21 field goals and finishing with 115 points. He was named first team All-Pac 12 in 2019 for his efforts.
On this episode of the podcast, we talk to Mazza about his 2019 season, growing up a pastor’s kid, leading ministry in college at Washington State, and how he stays grounded in his faith during a long season.
So excited to see what God has planned for this team and me as I enter my junior season in 2020. Wanting to accomplish many goals on the field as well as continue to grow and share my faith! (Proverbs 16:9) #GoCougs
