THIS IS EPISODE 452 OF THE SPORTS SPECTRUM PODCAST
Nicole Hensley is a professional women’s hockey goaltender and has been a member of the U.S. women’s national hockey team since 2016. She has competed in one Olympics (winning gold at the 2018 Winter Games in South Korea), two IIHF Women’s World Championships (gold in 2016 and 2017), and two Four Nations Cups (first in 2016 and 2017).
Growing up a fan of NHL legend Patrick Roy, Hensley always wanted to be a goalie and began her hockey journey when she was just a little girl in Colorado.
On this episode of the podcast, we talk to the 25-year-old about where her love for hockey began, how she became a member of Team USA, the experience of competing in an Olympics, and that moment she won a gold medal. Hensley’s faith is strong, and throughout the conversation she talks about how the Lord has been her guide.
For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, so that you through His poverty might become rich.-2 Corinthians 8:9
