THIS IS EPISODE 570 OF THE SPORTS SPECTRUM PODCAST
Brian Dickinson is an author, speaker and adventurer. In May 2011, he soloed the summit of Mount Everest, the highest mountain the world. On his descent, he became snow blind, with his vision not returning for more than a month.
Dickinson depicted the story in his book, “Blind Descent,” released in 2014. He holds the record for the highest solo blind descent, and has climbed each of the highest peaks on all seven continents. He’s been featured on CNN, “Good Morning America,” the Huffington Post, the 700 Club and more.
Previously, Dickinson spent six years in the United States Navy as a special operations air rescue swimmer, and did two tours in the Persian Gulf as part of Operation Southern Watch.
On today’s show, Dickinson tells the incredible story of climbing Mount Everest, becoming snow blind on his way down the mountain, and he shares in great detail the emotional connection with God he made in his darkest moment on the descent.
I’m so honored and humbled to have my Blind Descent experience as a 7-day devotional on @YouVersion! I hope it helps others grow in their faith and gain some much needed perspective in walking out this life. @tyndalehouse #devotional #devo #faith #everest https://t.co/5g9PeOvFup pic.twitter.com/8YLdR4UDUe
