THIS IS THE SPORTS SPECTRUM PODCAST
WITH JASON ROMANO, FEATURING ROBERT GOLDEN
Robert Golden played six seasons in the NFL with the Pittsburgh Steelers from 2012-2017. He went undrafted in 2012 after playing college football at the University of Arizona, but signed as a free agent with Pittsburgh. In 2018, he signed a contract with the Kansas City Chiefs, but later asked for his release. He ended up retiring from the NFL at the age of 27.
Golden has since pivoted to a more purposeful work as the president and CEO of Golden Charter Academy in his hometown of Fresno, California. The school launched in August 2021 and has a mission to inspire powerful young minds.
Today on the podcast, we talk to Golden about his strong faith in the Lord and how it guided him from the NFL to wanting to impact the youth in his hometown.
It took me:
17 years of school to get a College Degree
11 Years of Football before the NFL
3 Years of working on GCA before having my school approved.
Moral of the story, nothing worth having happens overnight.
Prayer, Dedication, Patience, & Faith!
