Walker Zimmerman is a defenseman for Nashville FC who has also made 22 appearances for the U.S. men’s national team. Originally selected in the first round (seventh overall) of the 2013 MLS SuperDraft by FC Dallas, he played five seasons in Dallas before getting traded to Los Angeles FC in December 2017. He spent two seasons there (and was named an All-Star in 2019) before joining Nashville in its inaugural campaign of 2020.
In February 2020, Zimmerman scored the first goal in Nashville FC history, and he was later named the 2020 MLS Defender of the Year.
Today on the podcast, we talk to Zimmerman about his current role with Nashville FC, playing for an audience of One, growing up the son of a pastor, becoming a new dad, and what it means to represent his country on the U.S. men’s national team.
