THIS IS THE SPORTS SPECTRUM PODCAST
WITH JASON ROMANO, FEATURING BOBBY MAGALLANES

Bobby Magallanes is the assistant hitting coach with the Atlanta Braves. As a player, he was selected by the Seattle Mariners in the 50th round of the 1989 MLB Draft and played several seasons in the minors before moving to play professionally in Mexico.

In 2002, he began his career as a coach and spent several seasons in the minor leagues coaching in the Angels, White Sox and Guardians organizations before moving to the Braves in 2019. After spending the COVID 2020 season as a minor league assistant hitting coordinator, Magallanes finally made it to the major leagues in 2021 and was named the assisting hitting coach with Atlanta. In his first season in 2021, he was part of a World Series championship team as the Braves beat the Astros.

Today on the podcast, we talk to Magallanes about his long and winding baseball journey, staying the course of faith and never failing to trust God when things didn’t seem to be going the way he wanted. He also looks back at the amazing 2021 MLB season and the emotions of making it to the majors and winning a World Series.
