SS PODCAST: Former NFL player & coach Jim Zorn on leading with Christ at the center

THIS IS THE SPORTS SPECTRUM PODCAST
WITH JASON ROMANO, FEATURING JIM ZORN

Jim Zorn is a former NFL player and NFL head coach who was the first-ever starting quarterback for the Seattle Seahawks in their expansion season of 1976. He remained the starter for the next seven seasons and finished his time with the Seahawks in 1984. After a few more seasons, he was finished with football after the 1987 season and turned his attention to coaching.

In 2001, Zorn returned to the team he played with for so many years, becoming the quarterbacks coach for the Seahawks. In 2005, his team won the NFC championship and went on to Super Bowl XL against the Steelers. Zorn later had a stint as an NFL head coach in 2008 and ’09 with Washington.

Today on the podcast, we talk to Jim Zorn about his NFL playing career, living out his faith each day, the comparisons of coaching and playing as a Christian, and his desire to finish well as he approaches 70 years old in 2023.
