SS PODCAST: Matt Hasselbeck on coaching his son, winning state title, his broadcasting future

Matt Hasselbeck played 17 seasons in the NFL with the Green Bay Packers, Seattle Seahawks, Tennessee Titans and Indianapolis Colts. The three-time Pro Bowler retired after the 2015 season and was inducted into the Seattle Seahawks Ring of Honor in October 2021.

Hasselbeck also spent seven years as an NFL analyst for ESPN. In the fall of 2023, he was the quarterbacks coach for his son Henry’s Xaverian Brothers High School team, which won the Massachusetts state championship.

Today on the podcast, we talk to Matt Hasselbeck about coaching his son, winning the state title, his son choosing to play college football at UCLA, throwing passes to Jerry Rice, memories of the “Beast Quake” playoff game, and praying in the NFL.
