SS PODCAST: Former NFL WR Jerricho Cotchery on coaching, worship, pride vs. humility

Jerricho Cotchery is a former NFL wide receiver who is currently the head coach at Limestone University (Gaffney, South Carolina). He was selected in the fourth round of the 2004 NFL Draft by the New York Jets and played seven seasons there before moving to Pittsburgh for three seasons (2011-13) and finishing out his final two years in Carolina (2014-15).

Cotchery’s last NFL game was with the Panthers in Super Bowl 50, which Carolina lost after a 15-1 regular-season record and NFC championship. After a few years as an assistant coach in the NFL, Cotchery joined Limestone, serving under head coach Mike Furrey until being named the head coach in February 2024.

Today on the podcast, Jerricho Cotchery shares his journey of faith and how it has impacted his life on and off the field. He discusses the importance of Jesus in his life and the life-changing moment that solidified his faith. Cotchery also talks about the challenges of balancing football and faith, as well as his experiences playing with Brett Favre, Cam Newton and under coach Mike Tomlin. Cotchery reflects on his Super Bowl experience and the role of spirituality in the NFL.
