People in and around the sports world are praying for Florida basketball star Keyontae Johnson, who suddenly collapsed following a timeout early in Saturday’s game against Florida State.
Johnson, the Southeastern Conference’s Preseason Player of the Year, had just dunked in transition moments before the timeout, then fell to the floor near mid-court. Several Florida players were in tears and the game was delayed for several minutes while Johnson was tended to.
He was rushed to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital and was listed as being in critical but stable condition. The reason for Johnson’s collapse is not yet known.
Florida coach Mike White was one of many people to publicly plea for prayers over Johnson on social media.
Please keep praying for @Keyontae and his family. We all love him.
