Teddy Bridgewater says he never questioned God after his gruesome injury last season

Teddy Bridgewater was selected in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft by the Vikings (32nd overall) and immediately became a fan favorite in Minnesota.

He started 12 games in 2014 and played in all 16 games in 2015, leading the Vikings to their first division title in 7 years as well as being named to his Pro Bowl.

At 23 years old, the sky was limit for Teddy Bridgewater.

And then on August 30, 2016, everything changed.

Bridgewater suffered a non-contact injury to his left leg resulting in a torn ACL and other structural damage including a dislocation of the knee joint. He would miss the entire 2016 season and some said that he might never recover enough to play in the NFL.

On the one year anniversary of that horrific, Bridgewater took to social media to share his thoughts on the injury.

“I never asked God why this happened to me, I’ve only told him thank you. A year later, he’s showing me why this happened to me. Blessed.”

When hardship comes our way, we’re often wired to immediately ask “why me God?” For 24-year-old Teddy Bridgewater, having an attitude of gratitude really is a testament to how strong his faith in God is.

“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” -1 Thessalonians 5:18
