Super Bowl LII Predictions: Philadelphia Eagles vs New England Patriots

Jason Romano: Eagles 27 – Patriots 24 – This feels like 1990 all over again. I hate picking against Tom Brady and Bill Belichick, but I think that Nick Foles and that Eagles defense are reminiscent of Jeff Hostetler and the New York Giants defense holding off the mighty Buffalo Bills in Super Bowl XXV. Fly Eagles Fly, on the road to their first Super Bowl title.

Justin Adams: Eagles 21 – Patriots 17 – In the nine playoff games Tom Brady has lost, seven of those were when he was held under 20 points. The Eagles defense has given up only 17 points in its two playoff games, but this is a different animal. The defense will have to constantly get pressure to Tom Brady and that might not be enough (see Jacksonville). The difference will be Nick Foles with the imposing running game of Jay Ajayi and LeGarrette Blount. Philly has been underdogs all postseason long, now they will show up on the biggest stage and win its first Super Bowl.

Jon Ackerman: Eagles 27 – Patriots 23 – Championships are often won by defenses, and Philly owns the superior one here. I know Tom Brady is Tom Brady, but Nick Foles gives the Eagles a chance. If he can beat the Vikings defense, he can beat the Patriots defense.
