Wide receiver Brandon Marshall visits Seattle Seahawks, according to report

NFL wide receiver Brandon Marshall could find a new home in the Emerald City. Marshall, 34, is visiting the Seattle Seahawks, according to ESPN.

The 12-year veteran was released by the New York Giants last month. In his only season with the team, he played in five games, catching 18 passes for 154 yards, before suffering a season-ending ankle injury.

He is the only player in NFL history to have 1,000 receiving yard seasons with four different NFL teams and ranks 16th all-time on the NFL’s list for receptions and 22nd in receiving yards. Now looking for a home, Marshall believes he still has several good years of football left in his career.

“I’m all-in on football. I’ve rebuilt my body. I think I’m two great years away from — and I’ll say it, I want to be a Hall of Famer, and I think I got two great years to go to be mentioned with some of the greats,” Marshall told ESPN. “I’m not just playing this game just to be a guy; I want to be remembered for the product that I put out on the field.”

The Seahawks could use Marshall’s experience. In the offseason, Seattle lost speedy receiver Paul Richardson to the Washington Redskins in free agency.

But Marshall would bring more than his wealth of football experience to the locker room. A believer in Christ, he has seen the impact Jesus has had on his life. Sharing on The Increase, he talked about how praying for clarity helped his faith in Jesus grow and his marriage to Michi prosper.

“I was relentless in my praying. Relentless in getting into the Word everyday,” Marshall said. “I was feeling something I never felt before. I’ve been praying for clarity for four years and it’s happened. Jesus is the center of everything we do.”

Seattle Seahawks veteran mini-camp will go from June 12-14.
