Bengals QB Andy Dalton's foundation to make donation to Buffalo's Roswell Park Cancer Center

Andy Dalton became Buffalo’s favorite quarterback after his Bengals beat the Ravens in last season’s final weekend, knocking Baltimore out of the playoffs and giving the Bills their first spot in the postseason in 18 years.

Bills fans were so grateful to see their team in the playoffs that they responded by donating more than $350,000 to the Andy and Jordan Dalton Foundation, which helps provide daily support, opportunities, resources and life-changing experiences to seriously ill and physically challenged children and their families in Cincinnati and Fort Worth.

On Wednesday, the Daltons announced on Twitter that they are taking a portion of that money and returning it back to Buffalo with a donation to Buffalo’s Roswell Park Cancer Center.

Dalton appeared on the Sports Spectrum podcast back in March and talked about the response from Bills fans in the aftermath of that victory.

“To have that support from a fanbase that’s not even yours is crazy,” Dalton told us. “But the amount of good that we’re going to be able to do with that money, it’s going to be awesome.”

It’s been a good week for the Dalton family, as J.J. and Andy announced on Monday that they were expecting their third child, a little girl.

Dalton has a deep faith in Jesus Christ and shared his testimony of faith with us on the podcast.

My family and I were all together, sitting on the couch of my house,” he said. “We had our pastor over at our house. Our pastor’s name was Doctor Wisdom — that’s a pretty good pastor name. I remember him just explaining if you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, that you’d have eternal life. I remember at that moment that this was something I wanted to make my own.”
