“He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion . . .” Philippians 1:6
Slow Change
No one becomes successful overnight. Tiger Woods didn’t suddenly become a great golfer at age 23. It took years and years of practice. Before he became the best golfer in the world, I’m sure he lost many times and had to learn from his mistakes.
As Christians, we often expect ourselves and others to change overnight, but the process of sanctification takes time. We have to learn from our mistakes, build our strength and endurance, and trust God to guide us in the right direction. When I get impatient with myself and want to give up because my improvement isn’t happening quickly, I remember that God never gives up on me.
