“A group of Jews from Antioch and Iconium came to Lystra and won over the crowds. Then they stoned Paul, and dragged him out of the city, supposing he was dead. But as the disciples stood around him, he rose up, and entered into the city.” — Acts 14:19-20
Back In The Fight
I’m sure many times in life we have felt like we have been “dead” spiritually, emotionally, mentally and maybe even relationally. Times in life in which we were fighting forces that were too strong for us to handle by ourselves. Society may have knocked us down but God has always had the final say. He always knows what we need.
What I love so much about today’s scripture is the point that as soon as Paul had other believers around him, he was able to get up. Those people were able to speak life into him. And next, we see Paul entering back into the town. His people were able to push him back to the fight.
I pray that you have surrounded yourself with people who will not only help you up but also encourage you back into the fight. Our battles are not meant to be done alone. God continues to send people in our lives daily who have been assigned to help, heal, love and carry us when the world thinks we have nothing left. Don’t miss these people nor take them for granted. God has them here for a reason. For you. For me. For Him.
Let’s rise up and continue the good fight.
