“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God be competent, equipped for every good work.” II Tim. 3:16 (ESV)

Eat The Playbook

During the six years I played safety in the NFL, my job was to understand the defense, help my teammates get into position, and make plays. In order to do these three things that would help my team win, the first thing I needed to do was “Eat My Playbook.”

Eating my playbook meant that I needed to study and absorb the defensive playbook and to know it better than my coaches! The better I knew the playbook, the better I could master the defense, help my teammates get into position, and make plays.

God has given us a playbook that He wants His team (the Church) to eat. It’s called the Bible. The more we eat the Bible, the more we will love Jesus; and the more we love Jesus, the more His mission and power will become ours. Take some time to eat the Bible daily, not just to gather facts, but to know Jesus so His life can influence your life.
