“Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.” — Psalm 27:14
THE WAITING GAME
In 2017, the Philadelphia Eagles began what would be their greatest season with Carson Wentz as their starting quarterback and veteran backup Nick Foles waiting in the wings in case of emergency.
That emergency occurred in December when Wentz suffered a season-ending knee injury.
In stepped Foles, who waited patiently for his opportunity and then took full advantage by leading his club to its first ever Super Bowl title, beating the defending-champion New England Patriots, 41-33.
Foles was named Super Bowl MVP.
Throughout the Bible, and especially in the Psalms, we are told to wait on the Lord. We are told to be patient. God knows the best timing for us in everything. Put your trust in Him and wait on His timing. You won’t regret it. Because His timing is always perfect.
