“God’s grace has saved you because of your faith in Christ. Your salvation doesn’t come from anything you do. It is God’s gift. It is not based on anything you have done. No one can brag about earning it.” — Ephesians 2:8-9

You are Mine

Our 9-year-old son recently moved up to the next level of baseball in our local league. This week he had his “selection practice.” It was an intimidating setting. There were coaches all over the place. They had stop watches, clipboards and the eyes of hawks.

The practice made me think about grace and salvation. I am so glad that I do not have to earn my salvation. I don’t have to go from station to station in front of my Lord, wondering what He is writing on His clipboard. He has already claimed me. I am His.

And it is by grace alone. Jesus Christ died on the cross to save me from my sins and to give me eternal life. Grace and salvation is our free gift. What an incredible reality.
