“Some men came carrying a paralyzed man on a mat and tried to take him into the house to lay him before Jesus. When they could not find a way to do this because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and lowered him on his mat through the tiles into the middle of the crowd, right in front of Jesus.” — Luke 5:18-19

If Jesus was physically living today, he would by far be one of the most sought after people to get a look at. I mean the paparazzi alone would never let him have a moment off. The crowds today would be massive and EVERYONE would be trying to catch a glimpse of Jesus.

In this passage you see a bunch of friends carrying around their friend KNOWING that Jesus is exactly what he needs.

I love that they are willing to do WHATEVER it takes for him to see Jesus. Just because there was a roadblock, that didn’t stop them from getting him there. Who are your friends in your life that are willing to do WHATEVER it takes in order for you to see Jesus?

Our journey is always going to be a challenge, but God will FOREVER provide the people we need in order to grow. Let’s be encouraged this week to take an inventory of our squad. Who are the people willing to tear roofs off in order for you to see Jesus? If you were “paralyzed” in a season of your life, who is walking with you?

I don’t want the friends in my life who make me feel GOOD, but rather those who make me feel GOD. The ones loving me so unconditionally, constantly showing up with grace and mercy in any situation.

Let’s not miss nor take for granted the tribe we do life with. Thank them today. Send an encouraging text. Give them a hug. Make them understand that we don’t deserve them but God decided to give them to us anyway. These are your people who will help you go where you can’t go on your own — “tear the roof off” kind of people.
