“But you, O Lord, are a shield about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head.” — Psalm 3:3

Keep Your Head Up

In college, I took a marketing class that spoke of specific ways that businesses use tools to help their plan —small things that people would never think matter. For example, the casino business chooses many designs on its carpeting throughout its properties because the human eye can not concentrate on it for very long. Since a lot of people walk with their heads down, these designs force people to keep their heads up. Hence, they will see more and be more inclined to visit machines or tables. When they look up, they always see more opportunities.

How many of us are currently walking with our head down? Something in our lives is making us drop our head, yet we are fortunate to serve a loving Father who constantly is lifting it back up. God is continually reminding us to keep our heads lifted high because of the wonders and fascination of what He has for us. There are more opportunities to see when we are focused on what is ahead of us and not behind.

Be encouraged today that if something you want to envision isn’t going the way you expect, God is the ultimate head-lifter, who will refocus our lenses to see that He is in control and protecting us along the way. Keep your head up on that situation and watch God lead you to opportunities you never could have imagined.
